      You wouldn’t believe how many state, city, and municipal employees that are still getting paid that are staying home. There’s a lot of employees that aren’t working from home, there just told to stay home because of COVID-19. Try going to city hall to conduct business, they’ll tell you that you have to go online to do that. Yet they expect me to sit in a jury room with other people for 8 hours waiting to get called for a case. Fuck that. The sheet they hand out when you first walk in to fill out. When I hand mine in I know I’m gonna hear the court officer over the speaker say will juror number, it’s always my number they call, please come to the lobby. The court officer usually says , they actually called you for jury duty ? I act like I’m all embarrassed and insulted by what he said, I get an apology and told I can leave. It’s all in the way you play the game

I usually get called every year, and I sit there listening to the charges in the case, and sit through the attorneys asking potential jurors their questions, and right about the time I start to get interested in the case, they get their 12 and I get excused.     I can’t seem to get on a regular easy routine.

    I’m either working like 70+ hour weeks, or I’m insomniacal, or it’s gotta be something. I can’t just set up a daily routine, work decent hours, get back to some semblance of a regular life. These are choices. My choices. Get a grip, Subby! :banghead:

    I’d like to leave all this intensity behind and just achieve some boring status quo while I recharge and plan for next stages. I feel like I won’t have the bandwidth for big change when it comes time to really need it.

    I'm doubling down on Subbie's post earlier. I started taking Social Security. Now I knew you could only make a certain amount of money without
    your SS affected. But what I didn't know is: you can only use so much of your very own money and if you take more, you are penalized for the full next year of SS payments. ASSHOLES! I paid SS taxes for 34 years. They made my payments 2,330/mo. Then decided I was getting insurance from my company, and reduced it to 2181./mo. Then I did a home remodel that wasn't cheap and used money from savings. They dropped my SS to 1,935/mo. We got a cost of living raise <after 15 years>
    which should have put me at 2640/mo. UN FUCKING REAL Taking 705 dollars a month away for a year. And yes of course, still pay taxes while being penalized.
