Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina offers many free giveaways at pop-up events throughout the month. The goal of these pop-up events is to supplement the work of locally run food pantries, soup kitchens and other organizations that distribute food to those in need.
You can find the current schedule of the pop-up markets at foodbankcenc.org/popup-markets. The schedule is usually published a month at a time. The schedule is also announced on the organization’s Facebook page. Read on for what’s on the schedule now.
There are no income, ID or residency requirements in order to receive food at a pop-up event.
The pop-up markets are just supplemental events. Please go to foodbankcenc.org/food-finder/ to find a agency near you that can offer help in a more immediate and ongoing basis. Just enter your zip code and you’ll be provided with a list of agencies near you. You should be able to see their hours, as well as contact information.
